UN-comfortable!

By Greg on January 22, 2008 in mp3blog

It's only very recently that the Carl staff has started contributing to this blog--like, this week recent--so we weren't really able to get in on year-end best-of retrospective frenzy that overtook the blogosphere for most of December. But better late than never, right? I discovered 1990s and the 1900s late in 2007 (in fact, I accidentally downloaded songs from the latter band while looking for more music from the former), and the songs of theirs posted below quickly became two of my 2007 favorites. The 1900s make Belle & Sebastian-style indie pop with a knack for harmony and rhythm that would make Stuart Murdoch jealous. 1990s are a power pop LCD Soundsystem, writing dancable guitar music that stays mercifully far from the dance punk cliches now synonymous with rock you can move to. Both bands are bound to be confused with one another for as long as they're making albums. It's really pretty awkward.

1990s - "See You At The Lights"
