Ah, Daedelus. Just when you think you have him figured out, he makes a sharp turn, sculpting his nuanced, elaborate electronic music into popped-up, dance-floor ready songs. This new EP, which is finally available in the States, features songs that Daedelus himself describes as "sleek and laughably sexier", perfect for discotheque partiers "who want dance music at the top of their night".

Blending arrhythmic claps with raw-edged synth melodies and topping it with sugary pop lyrics ("when the weather gets warm we get the same things on our minds as you boys do", explains a sultry female voice at the outset of the title track), this EP is incredible in its ability to be friendly, accessible, and more addictive than most top 40 hits without sacrificing Daedelus's trademark melodic and rhythmic innovation/sophistication.

It may not be totally life-changing (although the beautifully messy blend of bass thumps and r&b vocals in "My Beau" kept me warm all day), but this EP is absolutely worth anyone's time. Highly recommended.
