Mabusive

Even if the new album by London-based art rockers The Mabuses, "Mabused," weren't good, it would still be the one of the most diverse-sounding albums this year. Only the Jif-peanut-butter-smooth vocals unite many of the tracks, and even then they fall away on several of the tracks.
The Mabuses - Havana
A marachiesque ballad...
The Mabuses - Feast
A compelling song about making lemonade out of lemons...
The Mabuses - Garden Devils
Aphex Twin's "Goon Gumpas" meets the Russian composers...
The Mabuses - Russian Roulette
...and finally, on the standout track of the album, sludgy drums fizz and pop behind slow, sexy guitar and languorous vocals.
