Taking It Back...In Time

Lately I've really been craving some of that Motown sound, especially with the success of the Family Planning Hour. Fortunately, there have been a couple huge developments for fans of classic Motown lately. First of these is Amy Winehouse's new album Back to Black, which revives the '60s Motown sound while staying fully aware of its connections to contemporary hip hop and R&B.
If that's not enough for you, though, Stones Throw Records just released their most recent podcast, a full hour of Motown tribute remixes by Madlib. I'd check that out, but I might listen to a little Marvin Gaye first, though. After all, "Let's Get It On" is still the classic when it comes to that smooth Motown sound.
