Good Riddance- Green Day
Something By Raffi
The Alma Mater
The Final Countdown
We Go Together
Banana Phone

Heads Carolina, Tails California
We're Going to be Friends
Girl on TV
“Something grossly indie since you were like that back in the day.”
Hey Juliet
The Sweetest Smile
Video Killed the Radio Star
Radio Song
Swell

Final Show!

Here it is: the final show ever. Graduating and all of that seem to get in the way of doing more radio here on KRLX. It has been a pleasure to share music with you, and I hope you have discovered something fun and new. I plan on doing more with VGM (podcast, perchance) in the future, so stay tuned on my (eventual) Twitter account 'jrzesz' or search for my name.

Today I play some of my recent favorites:
Fated Encounter ~ The Fall of Darkness - The KiRite album has been one of my favorites since it came out. I have a real hard time picking between Market in Volfinor and this track as my favorite, but Fated Encounter comes out on top for its awesome progression.

Eradicate and Evolve - The Echoes of War project was monstrous, and I'm really glad Go Shiina was involved. The song really highlights his unique style, and is so tremendously 'zerg' in its mixing of synth and orchestra. I always get chills from its surprise ending.

Melodies of Life - A classic vocal track done well in the recent Distant Worlds II CD. A great disc, and a all-around nice arrangement.

Balto - A favorite of mine for about ten years (talk about consistency). Mitsuda uses such cool uncommon instruments in his arrangements, and this is no exception. A highlight in Xenogears CREID.

EXEC SUSPEND/. - One of the best of Ar Tonelico I, along with PHANTAMAGORIA and LINCA. I love Mitose's voice accompanied by erhu, so cool.

Traverse Town - I've never heard a VGM piano arrangement so capture the nature of a theme as well as this one.

Radical Dreamers - Mitsuda does it again in Chrono Cross with this vocal ending track. An unexpected end to a unique game, with lovely acoustic style.

DISSIDIA Ending - A great booming medley of FF endings 1-10. The brass really take it and capture the spirit of each game. A surprise at the end of a rather conventional OST. The transition from Melodies of Life to Zanarkand is sublime.

Period - Another fun OP style JRock song. The chord change in the mid-end is really neat.

All I Need - One of the highlights from Within Temptation's Black Symphony concerts. A really moving song, and well performed after nearly two hours of singing prior.

Thanks for listening!

And Thus The End Is Nigh

So the moment we've all been dreading has arrive, the inaugural season of Word Association Nation has come to a close. We had a smashing finale, featuring each one of our top listeners who at some point this spring has stayed up until this strange hour to listen. Also, we had 12 listeners online without them! By my count, thats 25 people listening at 4 in the morning (Yayyyy math!). Special thanks to you all.
