Carleton Scrapbook Sustainability Special

By Claire on January 19, 2010 in scrapbook

On Sunday's edition of Carleton Scrapbook, Helen and I sat down with three sustainably-minded Carleton students, Simone Childs-Walker, Blake Hansen and Kelsey Ross, to talk about 'the issues' facing Carleton/world citizens.

Does 'sustainable' mean deprivation and sacrifice? Sustainable choices can be beyond efficient. Bike to St. Paul (or Seattle). Become a hunter-gather. Move out of Goodhue and into the arb. Tap into stored resources. Go to China to study agroecology. Join the cross country team. Dig in the dirt. Become a Sustainability Assistant. Raise animals. Grow food. Connect. Reject Ecotainers. Eat the lawn.

Go green or go home.
